Cardi, nato a Francolise (CE) nel 1954, è un ingegnere aeronautico con oltre 36 anni di esperienza nel settore dell’aviazione civile, con precedenti esperienze professionali dapprima al RAI (Registro Aeronautico Italiano) e successivamente in ENAC, dove ha ricoperto l’incarico di responsabile della Direzione Normativa Tecnica, della Direzione Centrale Regolazione Aeroporti, della Direzione Centrale Infrastrutture e Aeroporti e infine della Direzione Centrale Regolazione Tecnica.
Altrettanto solido il profilo professionale internazionale di Alessandro Cardi, dove siede nel consiglio o nelle commissioni di importanti organismi di settore quali l’EASA (Agenzia Aerea per la Sicurezza Aerea), la JAA (Joint Aviation Authorities) e la Blue Med (organizzazione sullo spazio aereo multinazionale tra Italia, Grecia, malta e Cipro) di cui è rappresentante italiano nel Governing Board.
