LONDRA – L’aeroporto londinese di Heathrow ha riportato il maggior numero di passeggeri mai registrato nel mese di Novembre – 5.72 milioni. Si tratta di un aumento del 2.5% rispetto all’anno precedente.
A contribuire a tale incremento soprattutto i passeggeri da Messico, Cina e Medio Oriente.
Heathrow e’ come noto uno degli aeroporti piu’ congestionati al mondo. Basti pensare che Dubai (altro aeroporto tra i piu’ trafficati del pianeta), nel mese di Ottobre, ha registrato un numero leggermente piu’ alto di passeggeri (6.42 milioni), ma e’ un aeroporto operativo 24/7, mentre a Heathrow viene imposto un coprifuoco, con un numero limitato di movimenti, dalle 23.30 alle 6 di mattina (che paradossalmente e’ tra le fasce orarie con massima attivita’ a DXB).
A lungo si e’ parlato dell’espansione dell’aeroporto e finalmente il Governo conservatore sembra avere dato luce verde alla costruzione della terza pista. Questi dati confermano l’urgenza della realizzazione di tale progetto.
