Il video promozionale di ADR del nuovo Molo E
Roma – Il 21 dicembre scorso è stato ufficialmente inaugurato il nuovo Molo E dell’Aeroporto di Roma “Leonardo da Vinci”, grazie al quale sarà enormemente accresciuta la capacità e la qualità degli imbarchi nel settore extra-Schengen del principale aeroporto della capitale.

All’inaugurazione hanno partecipato il Presidente del Consiglio Paolo Gentiloni, il Ministro delle Infrastrutture e dei Trasporti Graziano Delrio, l’Amministratore Delegato di Atlantia Giovanni Castellucci, il Presidente della Regione Lazio Nicola Zingaretti, il Sindaco di Fiumicino Esterino Montino e il Presidente dell’Enac Vito Riggio, sottolineando l’importanza della nuova infrastruttura e lo sforzo compiuto da Aeroporti di Roma per incrementare la ricettività dello scalo.
Il progetto, costato 390 milioni di euro, ha permesso la realizzazione in meno di sei anni di una struttura di 90.000 metri quadri, capace di incrementare di 6 milioni all’anno la capacità dello scalo di Fiumicino, con 22 nuovi gate (di cui 14 con airbridge e 8 al livello inferiore). Sette piazzole di parcheggio sono dedicate ad aerei wide body, e alcune di queste permetteranno l’imbarco contemporaneo su più livelli per i B-747 e gli A380.

La nuova infrastruttura prevede nel livello interrato la presenza di due sistemi di smistamento bagagli HBS (Hold Baggage Screening) e BHS (Baggage Handling System).
Capofila delle imprese impegnate nella costruzione del nuovo molo è la società Cimolai, che ha dovuto affrontare non poche difficoltà nel corso delle prime fasi di realizzazione, soprattutto per i problemi finanziari di alcuni contractor, che hanno ritardato la prima fase di sviluppo dell’infrastruttura.
Il nuovo molo è composto di fatto da due distinte strutture, collegate tra loro, che permettono di unire una sezione esclusivamente dedicata allo shopping – tra le più grandi d’Europa, con oltre 10.000 metri quadrato di esposizione commerciale – ed una dedicata agli imbarchi. La sezione commerciale ospiterà a regime 40 punti vendita e 10 punti di ristoro di varia dimensione ed offerta diversificata.

L’intera area commerciale è distribuita su tre piani, collegati tra loro da scale mobili e rampe, in un’armonia di vetri e metallo moderna ed estremamente razionale nella concezione degli spazi.
Un’attenzione particolare è stata poi dedicata alla scelta di tecnologie edilizie e materiali che consentano il massimo risparmio energetico, come ad esempio le vetrate a “doppia camera” e l’impiego di illuminazioni a LED.
L’inaugurazione del nuovo molo ha coinciso anche con quella della nuova facciata Terminal 3, secondo schemi progettuali molto vicini a quelli originali del 1960 dell’architetto Morandi. La facciata, con profilo obliquo, è oggi interamente vetrata, permettendo non solo una straordinaria luminosità degli interni ma anche una più moderna e razionale concezione del profilo estetico.

Il nuovo molo E si inserisce nel Master Plan di sviluppo dell’aeroporto, che nelle intenzioni della società di gestione porterà entro l’anno 2021 il numero dei passeggeri a circa 55 milioni l’anno.
Il Master Plan prevede adesso la realizzazione di un nuovo avancorpo del Terminal 1 e l’estensione ad Ovest del T1, con la demolizione del Terminal 2. La nuova area di imbarco A sarà strutturata su un molo aggiuntivo all’estremità ovest dell’aeroporto, dotato di 14 gate con airbridge e 10 ad imbarco remoto, mentre una profonda ristrutturazione interesserà anche l’ex Molo C.
Anche le infrastrutture di volo prevedono investimenti cospicui per l’ammodernamento e l’ampliamento, al fine di permettere un contestuale incremento dei movimenti giornalieri e delle tipologie di aeromobile.
Verranno quindi realizzati nuovi stand di sosta , il raddoppio della via di rullaggio parallela alla pista 2 e la riqualifica della pista 3 e del sistema di via di rullaggio a questa collegate.
