Hi gents,
After 3,5 weeks in the States it was finally time to shoot some own stuff in good old Germany and in occasion with the 40 years anniversary of Panavia Tornado also the JBG 32 got two Tornado IDS adorned with a spec c/s on the tail ( 45+38 , grey c/s & 45+56 , ex Navy c/s ) , we traveled Thursday once again to Lechfeld, as the wx forecast was more as good for the evening, we could see one of the newest special decorated Tornado IDS of the JaboG 32 by night!
So my decision was easy...driving down to Lechfeld in the morning and returning home afterwards, so we spent 8 hrs driving back and for and almost 1100 km - but it was more as worth, and as result we could shoot this beauty under a nice Bavarian sky!
Thanks must go to everyone involved, and of course my host unit the JaboG 32, and all the air and ground crews that worked hard to prepare the special adorned Tornado IDS, and make this shooting to happen..... from the tow-truck driver, fire dept, technicians who were responsible for positing the Tornado IDS as we like to have it and everyone did an extraordinary job on that day..... from illuminate the jet, technicians who were responsible for switching on all lights on the Tornado , etc. and everyone did an extraordinary job!!!
This particular airframe has so far 3942 Flight Horus and "only" 7 FH left, and will be phased out Feb. 2010.
Since Sept. 8, 2009 it has the special decorated tail.
They have even put on my request HARM , AIM-9 , TSPJ Störsender & BOZ 101 under the Tornado - thx guys.
Even the refueling probe is extended, and looks nice.....
And with help of the airport fire dept I could make "mirror-effect" image, which looks cool or not!
Luckily the weather god has a faible for nightshots as u can see in the background
.
Ok enough of my blabla, and the impressions will tell the rest of the story.
As always c & c are more as welcome, and thanks for watching.
Cheers,
Mick
