Non è che Doha sia poi tanto meglio.
E' necessario addirittura il visto se uno fa scalo e vuole dare uno sguardo alla città
Anzi il visto costa €20 da pagare con carta di credito, e se stai qualche giorno come è capitato a me oltre al pagamento del visto e alle solite domande EDIT( mi ha fatto una battutina che se fossi stato in Italia gli avrei risposto per le rime!) ti fanno anche la foto sia in entrata che in uscita!

E' sicuramente un segno di maggior interesse al nostro mercato, che vuol dire aumento di freq. su MXP. Penso che FCO avverrà in seconda battuta e dipenderà dal successo o meno del network di Milano.
Grazie della risposta. In effetti EY rispetto alle altre concorrenti dirette come EK e QR è stata finora molto restia a espandersi sul mercato italiano, serve solo MXP mentre le altre due anche FCO e VCE. Inoltre considerando che EK e QR da adesso hanno rispettivamente 3 e 2 daily il solo daily di EY comincia a diventare poco competitivo e infatti spesso vengono proposte transiti molto lunghi ad AUH mentre con le altre due avendo piu' frequenze i tempi di attesa sono molto piu' brevi.
Vediamo se si andrà quindi verso un aumento di frequenze a MXP.

Airbus' A350 programme has been dealt a blow by Etihad, which has cancelled orders for seven A350-1000s, according to Reuters.
The report claims the Abu Dhabi-based airline has now halved its order for the 350-seat jet in four months from 25 in November to 12 at the end of April.
Airbus pushed back development of the stretched A350-1000 by two years when it decided to overhaul the design last year. The $320 million jet is now due to enter service in mid-2017.
Airbus claims the A350-1000 is more efficient than the B777-300ER, generating 25% less fuel burn.
Gulf carriers have a strong affinity to the B777 however. Emirates, the world's largest operator of B777 aircraft, placed an order for an additional 50 B777-300ERs at the last Dubai Airshow (click here).
Etihad now appears committed to Boeing for its future expansion, with 41 B787s due for delivery between 2014 and 2019 (click here). The latest decision may have implications on the 25 options its has for the Dreamliner too.
An Etihad spokesperson said it has "a great deal of confidence in the A350XWB program" and retains "attractive delivery positions" for the -1000 derivative.
"While we have reduced our firm orders, our 25 options and purchase rights for this fleet remain in place and will no doubt play a crucial role in the airline’s growth. This is not a new cancellation. Although not intrinsically linked, the recent delay to the A350XWB program provided an appropriate opportunity for Etihad to revisit its projected fleet mix in the latter part of the decade."
While Qatar Airways has 80 A350XWB aircraft on order, the first of which is set to be delivered in 2013, CEO Akbar Al Baker was more effusive over the Dreamliner, describing it as the "game changer" for the industry at the recent Arabian Travel Market. It receives its first aircraft this summer.

Etihad Airways has leased a Virgin Australia Boeing 777-300ER for use on its route between Abu Dhabi and Kuala Lumpur.
The UAE carrier said today that the once a week wet lease service reflected the importance of the relationship between the two carriers. Etihad Airways and Virgin Australia forged a ten-year strategic partnership 21 months ago.
Kevin Knight, chief strategy and planning officer at Etihad, said:* "This new agreement expands our successful partnership with Virgin Australia which already provides our guests access to Australia and elsewhere on our combined network of over 150 destinations."
The aircraft is configured with 33 flat bed seats in Business class and 328 seats in Economy class.* The return flights will be operated as normal using Etihad Airways' existing daily EY411 and EY418 flight codes, respectively. Flight time is seven hours and 20 minutes.

DUBAI, June 5 (Reuters) - Etihad Airways, Abu Dhabi's flagship carrier which is on an expansion spree, said it has acquired a 4 percent stake in Virgin Australia Holdings through the stock market, deepening its alliance with the Australian airline.
The stake has been bought through market purchases in recent weeks, Etihad said in a statement on Tuesday. The airline did not say how much it paid for the stake and whether it plans to increase the stake in future.
"Etihad Airways believes that this equity investment in Virgin Australia's domestic operations significantly strengthens the 10-year strategic partnership forged by the two carriers in August 2010," the statement said.
Eight-year-old Etihad is attempting to gain scale quickly - particularly in Europe - as it bids to catch up with rivals such as Dubai government-owned Emirates and Qatar Airways.
In December, the unlisted airline raised its stake in Air Berlin to nearly 30 percent from just under 3 percent, paying approximately 73 million euros and lending the carrier $255 million.
Last month, it bought a 3 percent stake in Irish airline Aer Lingus as a precursor to a commercial tie-up that could help the carrier gain more European routes.
Virgin Australia's foreign equity ownership is currently sitting at 46 percent, with 26 percent held by Richard Branson and 20 percent by Air New Zealand.
Its shares rose 1.2 pct on the Australian bourse on Tuesday following the announcement and after rival Qantas warned of a likely first annual net loss since its privatisation in 1995.
Etihad began flying to Australia in 2007 and the two carriers together operate 24 flights a week between Abu Dhabi and Australia.
The airline's first-quarter revenues rose 28 percent on the back of increased passenger numbers and the expansion of its global network.

Lo afferma il sito del quotidiano Les Echos, citando l'edizione odierna del giornale olandese De Telegraaf. Le due società sono da tempo in contatto per avviare una partnership, ma finora non si era mai parlato di scambi azionari. Eppure, scrive il quotidiano olandese citando "fonti a Parigi e ad Abu Dhabi", dal Golfo punterebbero apertamente a questa opzione. "Le trattative tra Air France-Klm ed Etihad su delle forme di collaborazione continuano, ma non diremo niente sui contenuti", ha commentato al giornale Klm. Air France, invece, non ha voluto rilasciare dichiarazioni.(ANSAmed).

Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, has signed a contract with Airbus to equip 17 of its future A320s on order with Airbus’ fuel saving Sharklets. The new wingtip devices measure 2.5 metres tall, replace the aircraft’s current wingtip fence and will reduce fuel burn particularly over longer sectors.
Deliveries of the Sharklet-equipped A320s to Etihad Airways will begin in the third quarter of 2013.
The Abu Dhabi based carrier started taking delivery of its 20 A320s on order in the last quarter of 2011. Once in service, the A320s equipped with Sharklets will make Etihad Airways’single-aisle fleet one of the most modern and fuel efficient in the Middle East.
Etihad Airways President and Chief Executive Officer, James Hogan, said: “In today’s climate, our airline is fully focused on maximizing the environmental efficiency of the entire fleet.
“By growing our fleet with the modern, fuel efficient Sharklet-equipped A320, we’ll be able to reduce fuel burn which is central to our goal of growing profitability in the years ahead.”
Today, Etihad Airways’ fleet of Airbus aircraft comprises 50 Airbus passenger aircraft (17 A320 Family, 33 A330/A340 Family) and two A330-200 Freighter aircraft. The additional 43 aircraft to be delivered from existing orders, including 10 A380s, will grow Etihad Airways’ total Airbus fleet to 95 aircraft.

The new wing tip devices will result in around 3.5 percent reduced fuel burn over longer sectors, corresponding to an annual CO2 reduction of around 1,000 tonnes per aircraft.

Etihad volerà in Brasile
Domenica 3 giugno 2012, Etihad Airways ha annunciato i propri piani sul Brasile, che sarà la prima destinazione sudamericana nel network della compagnia aerea.
"Il Brasile è il nostro successivo passo logico e, diventando il sesto continente servito, rappresenterà per noi il raggiungimento della maturità come compagnia aerea globale," ha affermato James Hogan, presidente e CEO di Etihad Airways.
I voli giornalieri per San Paolo inizieranno nel mese di giugno del 2013. Il servizio rappresenterà il primo collegamento aereo diretto tra Abu Dhabi e il Sud America.
"Il Brasile," spiega un comuncato della compagnia araba, "è la sesta più grande economia del mondo e ha superato il Regno Unito nel 2011. È anche il più vasto paese del Sud America e vanta, con i suoi quasi 200 milioni di abitanti, la popolazione più numerosa. Il commercio e il turismo saranno ulteriormente stimolati dal privilegio di essere il paese che ospiterà la Coppa del Mondo FIFA 2014 e dei Giochi Olimpici 2016."
James Hogan ha inoltre sottolineato: "I flussi commerciali e turistici fra Emirati Arabi Uniti e Brasile sono in crescita e saranno rafforzati dai nostri voli giornalieri diretti tra Abu Dhabi e San Paolo."
L’ambasciatore brasiliano presso gli Emirati Arabi Uniti, João de Mendonça Lima Neto, ha dichiarato: “Mi congratulo con Etihad Airways per l’annuncio di oggi che precede l’avvio di un collegamento aereo giornaliero diretto tra Abu Dhabi e San Paolo, il cuore finanziario e commerciale del Brasile. Stiamo assistendo a una crescita significativa nei rapporti bilaterali tra Brasile ed Emirati Arabi Uniti e siamo certi che Etihad Airways saprà creare nuove opportunità per il governo, il commercio, il turismo e gli scambi culturali."
Il Ministro del Turismo del Brasile, Gastao Vieira Dias, ha dichiarato: "Questi voli diretti di Etihad Airways rappresentano un ulteriore collegamento per i nostri popoli, culture e le imprese. Il Brasile e gli Emirati Arabi Uniti condividono la stessa relazione positiva in tutto il mondo, caratterizzata da un dialogo politico aperto, investimenti e commercio fiorenti e un numero crescente di viaggiatori. Attualmente per Etihad Airways lavorano oltre 50 cittadini di nazionalità brasiliana, tra cui 18 piloti e 27 persone dello staff di bordo, tutti con base negli Emirati Arabi Uniti.
Vieira ha aggiunto: “Il Brasile è una nuova e fantastica destinazione per i passeggeri Etihad. Come paese ospitante della Coppa del Mondo FIFA 2014 e delle Olimpiadi 2016, il Brasile vanta un grandissimo numero di opportunità sia per chi viaggia per piacere che per chi viaggia per lavoro. Il paese sudamericano attualmente è il quarto partner commerciale degli Emirati Arabi Uniti, con scambi bilaterali tra i due paesi per un valore complessivo di 2,85 miliardi dollari. Le autorità sperano di portare questa cifra a dieci miliardi di dollari entro cinque anni. Sono presenti 25 grandi compagnie brasiliane con uffici ad Abu Dhabi e gli Emirati Arabi Uniti acquistano zucchero, semi di soia, carne, aerei, oli pesanti, trattori e veicoli da costruzione dal paese sudamericano. Le esportazioni dagli Emirati Arabi Uniti verso il Brasile includono piattaforme petrolifere, carburante per l'aviazione, acciaio, prodotti in alluminio e plastica.
Il servizio di Etihad Airways prevederà anche connessioni dal Brasile alla rete globale della compagnia, offrendo una maggiore connettività con Abu Dhabi sui mercati del GCC (Gulf Co-operation Council), del subcontinente indiano e dell’Asia. I voli inizieranno il 1 giugno 2013 e saranno operati da Airbus A340-600 con configurazione a tre classi, 12 posti in Diamond First class, 32 in Pearl Business Class e 248 in Coral Economy, per un totale di 2.044 posti a settimana.
Nel corso del 2012 Etihad Airways ha già annunciato il lancio di voli giornalieri no-stop verso Washington D.C., Basra, Lagos, Addis Abeba, la città indiana di Ahmedabad e il Vietnam. Queste città sono parte del piano di crescita decennale del network che vedrà Etihad Airways volare verso 100 destinazioni con una flotta di oltre 150 aerei entro il 2020.

Domenica 3 giugno 2012, Etihad Airways ha annunciato i propri piani sul Brasile, che sarà la prima destinazione sudamericana nel network della compagnia aerea.
"Il Brasile è il nostro successivo passo logico e, diventando il sesto continente servito, rappresenterà per noi il raggiungimento della maturità come compagnia aerea globale," ha affermato James Hogan, presidente e CEO di Etihad Airways.
I voli giornalieri per San Paolo inizieranno nel mese di giugno del 2013. Il servizio rappresenterà il primo collegamento aereo diretto tra Abu Dhabi e il Sud America.
"Il Brasile," spiega un comuncato della compagnia araba, "è la sesta più grande economia del mondo e ha superato il Regno Unito nel 2011. È anche il più vasto paese del Sud America e vanta, con i suoi quasi 200 milioni di abitanti, la popolazione più numerosa. Il commercio e il turismo saranno ulteriormente stimolati dal privilegio di essere il paese che ospiterà la Coppa del Mondo FIFA 2014 e dei Giochi Olimpici 2016."
James Hogan ha inoltre sottolineato: "I flussi commerciali e turistici fra Emirati Arabi Uniti e Brasile sono in crescita e saranno rafforzati dai nostri voli giornalieri diretti tra Abu Dhabi e San Paolo."
L’ambasciatore brasiliano presso gli Emirati Arabi Uniti, João de Mendonça Lima Neto, ha dichiarato: “Mi congratulo con Etihad Airways per l’annuncio di oggi che precede l’avvio di un collegamento aereo giornaliero diretto tra Abu Dhabi e San Paolo, il cuore finanziario e commerciale del Brasile. Stiamo assistendo a una crescita significativa nei rapporti bilaterali tra Brasile ed Emirati Arabi Uniti e siamo certi che Etihad Airways saprà creare nuove opportunità per il governo, il commercio, il turismo e gli scambi culturali."
Il Ministro del Turismo del Brasile, Gastao Vieira Dias, ha dichiarato: "Questi voli diretti di Etihad Airways rappresentano un ulteriore collegamento per i nostri popoli, culture e le imprese. Il Brasile e gli Emirati Arabi Uniti condividono la stessa relazione positiva in tutto il mondo, caratterizzata da un dialogo politico aperto, investimenti e commercio fiorenti e un numero crescente di viaggiatori. Attualmente per Etihad Airways lavorano oltre 50 cittadini di nazionalità brasiliana, tra cui 18 piloti e 27 persone dello staff di bordo, tutti con base negli Emirati Arabi Uniti.

Come paese ospitante della Coppa del Mondo FIFA 2014 e delle Olimpiadi 2016, il Brasile vanta un grandissimo numero di opportunità sia per chi viaggia per piacere che per chi viaggia per lavoro.
