La protesta fa seguito al rifiuto, da parte dei lavoratori, di un iniziale aumento di stipendio del 2% proposto dalla compagnia al personale “mixed-fleet”.
British Airways ha aspramente criticato l’iniziativa di protesta, puntando il dito soprattutto sulla scelta di due date sensibili come Natale e il Boxing Day (26 dicembre), festività quest’ultima molto celebrata in tutti i paesi del Commonwealth britannico.
