EuroLOT (K2, Warsaw Chopin) has announced that it will suspend operations on March 31 and that the carrier will be liquidated thereafter. The majority state owned regional carrier will continue to operate as planned until the end of next month after which some of the carrier's aircraft will be transferred to LOT Polish Airlines (LO, Warsaw Chopin).
A spokesperson of the Polish Treasury Ministry said there was no prospect of profits at the airline in the foreseeable future justifying the drastic decision.
EuroLOT currently operates 10 Dash 8-400s on regional services. It also operates two EMB-175s for Polska Wojska Lotnicze i Obrony Powietrznej (Warsaw Chopin) on behalf of the Polish government.
It currently operates from Gdansk to Amsterdam, Kraków and via Lublin to Milan Malpensa, from Kraków to Amsterdam and Zurich, from Rzeszow to Paris Beauvais, from Warsaw Chopin to Bydgoszcz, Chisinau, Dusseldorf, Stuttgart Echterdingen, Wroclaw and Zagreb as well as between Wroclaw and Zurich.
