Mah... proprio vicino ai 2 anni dalla scomparsa... mi sembra una cosa un pò forzata.

Non dovrebbe essere così difficile stabilire se il pezzo è effettivamente del MH370.

A part of debris was found washed ashore at a sand bank in Mozambique, the part (photo see below) was described to carry the letters "No Step" on it.

On Mar 2nd 2016 Malaysia's Transport Minister announced: "Based on early reports, high possibility debris found in Mozambique belongs to a B777. It is yet to be confirmed & verified. The Directorate of Civil Aviation Malaysia is working with Australian counterparts to retrieve the debris. I urged everyone to avoid undue speculation as we are not able to conclude that the debris belongs to MH-370 at this time."

On Mar 3rd 2016 Australia's ATSB released two photos of the debris (see below).

On Mar 24th 2016 Australia's Minister of Transport announced that both pieces of debris found in Mozambique are consistent with panels of MH-370 and stated: "The analysis has concluded the debris is almost certainly from MH370." The Minister continued: "I would like to acknowledge the work undertaken by the Australian Transport Safety Bureau, Geoscience Australia, Boeing and Australian National University which assisted the Malaysian Investigation Team with their examination of the debris."

On May 24th 2016 the ATSB reported, they did receive the photos made by Schalk Lückhoff on Dec 23rd 2015, see also paragraph above, showing the fragment of engine cowl they had already identified as almost certainly having been part of MH-370. The photos show, that the part was "significantly colonised by barnacles at the time it arrived on the beach." Work is ongoing with respect to the marine ecology of the sample.

China, Malaysia and Australia will suspend rather than shut down the search for Malaysia Airlines flight MH370, after the current area has been scoured.

They had previously agreed to end the search by July or August if no "credible new information" was found.
The plane, with 239 passengers and crew, disappeared in March 2014.
Many of their relatives have said they do not want the search to end until the plane is found.
The search, led by Australia, has been using underwater drones and sonar equipment to scour a 120,000 sq km search zone in the southern Indian Ocean where the plane is presumed to have crashed. Nothing related to MH370 has been found in the area.
However a few pieces of debris confirmed to be from a Boeing 777 have washed up on various islands thousands of miles from the search zone. MH370 is the only missing Boeing 777 in the world.
There is little detail about the circumstances under which a search might be resumed, but Reuters quotes Malaysia's transport minister as saying this does not mean the authorities have given up on finding the plane.
After a meeting of ministers from the three countries in Malaysia a letter was sent to the families with the decision, Channel News Asia reported.
"The ministers agreed that should the aircraft not be located in the current search area, and in the absence of credible new evidence leading to the identification of a specific location of the aircraft, the search would not end, but be suspended upon completion of the 120,000 square kilometre search area," it said according to Channel News Asia.
More than 110,000 sq km of the seafloor has been searched so far, but poor weather has caused delays to the search operation in recent weeks, the Joint Agency Coordination Centre said earlier this month.

Find in Tanzania Jun 23rd 2016

On Jul 18th 2016 the ATSB reported that Malaysia's DCA and ATSB are examining a piece of large debris found on Pembla Island off the coast of Tanzania. The debris is likely to be part of a wing flap. The part has arrived in Canberra for thorough examination related to the search for MH-370.

On Jul 28th 2016 Malaysia's Ministry of Transport released following statement in response to media reports claiming police had uncovered data from the captain's flight simulator showing a route very similiar to the presumed track across Malaysia towards Andaman Islands and then turning south:

Give evidence to investigating team if it exists, says minister

PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia is unaware of any evidence that MH370 pilot Captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah conducted a simulated flight deep into the remote southern Indian Ocean less than a month before the plane vanished.

Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said there was no indication that Zaharie had flown that route and authorities here were not aware of such evidence.

He said criminal investigations were ongoing and he would leave it to the investigation team to examine whatever evidence they had.

The New York magazine claimed to have obtained a confidential document from the Malaysian police investigation into the disappearance of MH370, which “showed the strongest evidence Zaharie made off with the plane in a premeditated act of mass murder-suicide”.

“We don't have that evidence as of now. If you have that evidence, please hand it over to the investigation team,” Liow said.
