Interessante la scelta di puntare da subito molto sull' Italia. LIN e VCE dal 31/10 e BLQ e FCO a partire da fine 2021/inizio 2022

Perché non c’è traffico, mica perché fa figo. AF scende a FCO col E190 e A318 ora.

Mi chiedo se ci sarà qualcuno che proverà la certificazione ETOPS per questa macchina (ovviamente il -300). Sarebbe interessante studiarne le applicazioni
Per l’ETOPS il grosso lo fa il motore, in piccola parte le ridondanze degli impianti (avionica compresa) disponibili. Il resto è tutta burocrazia.

Ibom Air, compagnia nigeriana che ha preso in leasing da Egypt Air 2 A220 ha deciso di ordinare direttamente da Airbus 10 macchine, 3 -300 e 7 -100. L’annuncio al Dubai Air Show.
Ibom Air (QI, Uyo) has placed an order for ten A220s with Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) during the 2021 Dubai Air Show. The acquisition provisionally consists of three A220-300s and seven A220-100s although this is subject to change. According to Mfon Udom, the chief Executive Officer of Ibom Air, deliveries will begin in 2023.
Backed by the Nigerian state of Akwa Ibom, Ibom Air originally planned to focus its growth on the CRJ900LR of which it planned to acquire ten, Udom said. However, having inducted five of the type into service, all of which are leased from Falko Regional Aircraft, it saw the need for greater capacity jets to help build its Nigerian domestic network as well as foster future international growth. At that point, it decided to wet-lease in two A220-300s from EgyptAir (MS, Cairo Int'l) on year-long contracts in June to assess the aircraft for itself. With the jets having proven themselves both economically viable as well as popular with customers, the decision to place an order for the A220 was taken.

Non male Ibom Air, ci volo relativamente spesso e si stanno espandendo abbastanza in fretta qui in Nigeria. Di tutte le nuove compagnie (negli ultimi anni ne sono nate diverse) sembra quella con un piano più assennato e qualche chance in più di confermarsi sul medio/lungo periodo. La Nigeria sembra aver avuto un improvviso innamoramento con i regional jet: oltre a Ibom, Air Peace ha piazzato un ordine per 30 E195 E2 (comprese le opzioni e di cui tre già consegnati) e Overland per 6 E175. La verità è che sembrano essere di nuovo spuntati capitali (di provenienza più o meno nota, qui non mi sbilancio troppo) e che l'acquisto di aerei sia molto in voga al momento per usarli; vedremo se la continuità e la manutenzione sul lungo periodo, grossa pecca di questo paese, questa volta faranno seguito agli investimenti iniziali.
L’ancienne C Series ne serait pas rentable avant 2025
La rentabilité de l’A220, cet ex-avion C Series de Bombardier récupéré par Airbus avec l’aide de Québec, ne saurait être espérée avant 2025.

Secondo un post trovato su Instagram Latam avrebbe ordinato 30+30 opzioni per A220, primo cliente in America Latina.
Lo stesso articolo riporta come anche GOL starebbe per annunciare un ordine, ma per la controparte, per E195 E2.

SWISS aveva portato uno dei suoi A220 in Sud America per conto di Airbus:

A Seattle a leggere 'ste cose secondo me rischiano un travaso di bile.
Tra l'altro, un amico mi faceva notare la particolarità (alla quale non avevo mai fatto caso) che Boeing produce solo in casa sua – immagino per scelte politiche.
Airbus invece non si fa problemi ad aprire impianti anche fuori Europa (Mobile & Tianjin).
Se poi in Alabama assumono pure, doppio smacco per gli americani.

Si tratta del Boeing Completion Center a Zhoushan, dove ricevono i 737 "green" e installano cabina e allestimenti interni per le compagnie locali.
Quella di Airbus a Tianjin invece è una FAL per A320 family.
Tipo la Center Wing Box del 777, praticamente la parte più delicata e importante, la fanno le “3Heavies” in Giappone.
Nonostante le proteste degli operai in USA.
Poi ti domandi perché Japan, ANA ecc hanno scelto il triplo per il LR.
Da alcune notizie trapelate da FIA2022, LOT sarebbe intenzionata a ordinare fino a 60 A220 per sostituire la ormai datata flotta di Embraer per il regional.
