E' un'intervista a Bruno Matheu, direttore generale per le attività lungo-raggio di AF, che esprime perplessità sul fatto che l'A380 sia un aereo adatto alle esigenze di AF:
Some airports can't easily handle the aircraft, it took them 3 years to get traffic rights into Shanghai Pudong.
The A350s and B787s are able to reach the same operating costs per seat as the A380, but Air France can offer more frequencies.
If Air France plans to add more A380s, it will be not tens of more.

Questa mi sembra un'affermazione molto importante, tanto più vista la fonte. Se queste considerazioni sono corrette, il futuro 779 potrebbe avere un costo per posto addirittura inferiore a quello del 380, assestando a quest'ultimo un colpo davvero pesante.

An Airbus A380 sports the 80th anniversary livery
An Airbus Air France A380 with the 80th anniversary livery took off last night to Johannesburg in South Africa. The superjumbo, whose special livery was painted in partnership with Airbus, was exclusively unveiled at Paris-Charles de Gaulle in the presence of 200 Air France staff.
Two Air France aircraft will sport this special 80th anniversary livery for a period of one year: an Airbus A380 and an Airbus A320.
"We have a very rich heritage, which we have built up over the years and which is a very strong competitive advantage. I am pleased that Airbus has chosen to take part in this event to sport the Air France 80th anniversary livery all over the world. It is also a great opportunity to share this anniversary with customers and staff" declared Frédéric Gagey, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Air France.
"We are particularly proud to be celebrating this 80th anniversary alongside Air France, illus-trating the success of this major European airline. From its earliest days Air France has de-monstrated its confidence in Airbus. Air France has operated the full range of Airbus aircraft, and will also be an operator of the latest generation A350 XWB in the coming years. We wish Air France all the best for a successful future" said Fabrice Brégier President and Chief Execu-tive Officer of Airbus.
The Airbus A380 is already setting new standards for air transport and the environment. In ad-dition to offering unequalled levels of passenger comfort, space and quietness inside and out-side the cabin, the Airbus A380 offers reduced emissions.

Mr Enders also said to Sueddeutsche Zeitung that EADS would consider ways to make its A380 superjumbo more attractive to customers after it suffered slow sales, but that it was still realistic that the programme would reach profit from 2015.
“The A380 is a wonderful plane but it’s true we cannot be happy with sales numbers. That is not a reason for panic . . . We will take time to consider how we can make the A380 more attractive,” he said.

Emirates ha diffuso un aggiornamento degli operativi della summer 2014, si segnala che sia MUC che CDG passano ad avere tutti i voli rispettivamente 2 e 3 daily operati solo con A380.

Sembra che Emirates sia interessata ad introdurre i posti 3-5-3 in economy sull'A380. Per ora ho avuto la fortuna di riuscire ad evitare il 3-3-3 sul 777, ma penso che il risultato in termini di comfort sia simile.
