From the Boss:

Today we updated the market on our full year 2024 results where we announced a profit of £610 million, an improvement of a third compared to last year. Our strong performance has primarily been driven by another record summer with strong capacity growth, revenue per seat improvement, good cost management and the exceptional 56% profit growth of easyJet holidays. These results reflect the effectiveness of our strategy and represent a significant step towards reaching our goal of £1 billion profit. Of course, none of this would be possible without the dedication of our extraordinary people who go the extra mile to deliver a great customer experience.

FY24 performance highlights:

FY24 headline profit before tax of £610 million, +£155 million YoY
Achieved £6.08 profit per seat, +24% YoY, a positive step towards our £7-10 target
An increase in passenger numbers, flying 100 million seats, up by 8%
easyJet holidays recorded £190 million profit, +56% YoY and 36% customer growth
Reduced winter losses by £40 million through a combination of productivity and utilisation benefits
16 new A320neo family aircraft delivered, increasing average gauge from 179 to 181, driving cost efficiencies of c.£25 million.

We continue to optimise our unrivalled network, deploying capacity in the markets where we see the strongest demand and returns. This year we launched our new Birmingham and Alicante bases which are performing well and our tenth UK base at London Southend will open this summer, where we are already seeing strong bookings. We are pleased to be the proposed short-haul airline to operate slots at Milan Linate and Rome Fiumicino, and subject to European Commission approval, these new bases are planned to open this summer with a combined 8 aircraft. This winter we will increase our frequency into North Africa and the Canary Islands, and our new winter sun destinations include Luxor and Cape Verde. We will also be expanding our city offering to Tromsø, Salsburg, Oslo and Derry, allowing customers to experience the Northern lights and fabulous Christmas markets.

Looking forward to the year ahead, we continue to see good demand from our customers for our flights and ancillary products. Customers are continuing to prioritise travel and look for value and choice, which is why they choose our flights and holidays.
