Incident: United B773 enroute on Mar 29th 2024, toilet overflows

A United Boeing 777-300, registration N2243U performing flight UA-59 from Frankfurt/Main (Germany) to San Francisco,CA (USA), was enroute at FL300 over the North Sea about 70nm northwest of Amsterdam (Netherlands) when the crew entered a hold to do some troubleshooting. About 30 minutes later the crew decided to return to Frankfurt, where the aircraft landed without further incident about 45 minutes after the decision to return to Frankfurt.
Passengers reported one of the toilets overflowed and the "soup" ran into the cabin associated with according odour. The crew initially tried to solve the problem together with maintenance but ultimately needed to return to Frankfurt.
The airline reported the aircraft returned to Frankfurt due to a maintenance problem with one of the toilets.
